General: King of Fighters XIII improves upon the KOF XII engine, using the Taito Type X2 arcade board like it's predecessor. There are nine returning KOF veterans in this installment, including: K', Kula, King, Mai, Yuri, Takuma, Vice, Maxima, and Hwa Jai. In addition, there will be at least 3 console exclusive characters, including: Billy Kane, Classic Iori Yagami, and Human Saiki! All together, KOF XIII boasts over 30 hand-drawn characters and the fighters will be grouped into teams this time.

The console version will pack at least 10 game modes, including: Story, Tutorial, Mission (complete with Survival, Time Attack & Trials), Online, Customize, Replay, and Gallery! The console version also hosts a greater selection of character colors (20 per character), including some ultra cool sprite edits & "head swaps" for certain fighters. At least 8 new hand-drawn stages will appear on console, and returning stages have been given visual updates as well. Color Edit/Customize Mode has also been confirmed for console! If the 20 color variations per character aren't enough for you, you can create your own badass color scheme for your favorite fighters!
In the console version's Story Mode, players can view events from multiple characters' perspectives including Ash, Heidern, and Adelheid. In addition, the story will be influenced by the player's choices and battle results, and will contain tons of HD artwork and animations that fans can't afford to miss. The brand new Tutorial Mode will be a great way for newcomers looking to improve their skills. Tournament organizer Rose Bernstein will explain the basic controls of the game for each character and the importance of each gauge!

Special moves now have "normal" and "EX" versions. The EX specials cost a small amount of the power gauge and can add extra hits, boost attack speed, and/or add an extra frame of invincibility! A new gameplay feature is the "Triple Cancel," which allows players to unlimitedly cancel their character's moves. The Triple Cancel is dependent on the "Hyper Drive Gauge," a three-tier gauge which gradually drains as the fighters cancel their moves. When a fighter is in Hyper Drive Mode and has three power stocks, they can perform a powerful technique known as a "Neo Max Desperation Move". Players can also link a Neo Max technique into a combo, which is dubbed "Max Cancel". The "zoom" effect that was used in King of Fighters XII on counter moves has been removed and the gameplay speed has also been improved greatly.
The Story Mode features a scoring system. When fighting against a computer opponent, players are challenged to complete a random objective during stages, or Target Actions. Completing these tasks can award bonus points at the scoring screen. Meeting certain conditions can also reward players the next round by filling up their power gauge or Hyper Drive Gauge. Objectives include goals such as completing a certain amount of hits within one combo, successfully hitting the opponent with a desperation technique (including EX and Neo Max desperation moves or specials), or being asked to perform a certain attack within 10 seconds. Pre-fight dialogue is also featured in game's 1-player mode.

Sono più altro notizie tecniche ma se a qualcuno interessano....
Poi c'è anche qualcosina sulla trama rubata da un profilo di Dark Ash

Evil Ash, officially known as Blood Spiraling into Insanity Ash, is the final boss of King of Fighters XIII. He was initially referred to by fans as Dark Ash and is the fusion of Ash Crimson and Saiki. When Saiki is defeated, Ash attacks him from behind and absorbs his energy. This backfires as Saiki's influence takes over during the process and as a result the two fuse into a single entity.

Evil Ash battles the tournament winners and is defeated. Thwarted, Saiki moves Evil Ash to return to the past through the closing time portal but is held back when Ash assumes control of the body. Ignoring the pleas from his ancestor to allow him passage and warnings of the consequences, Ash decides to erase his own history and calmly waits for the portal to close. The portal closes, which creates a time paradox: as Saiki is now trapped in the present, it is impossible for Ash to have ever been born. Thus, Ash ceases to exist, taking Saiki with him.
