This is my fourth Blue Mary FAQ. wasn't easy found a new ASCII style.
I still remember when i was writting my first FAQ in 99, new
characters, new system, a lot of changes, and a new saga.
With KOF 2K1 the n.e.s.t. saga comes to the end [i hope =)] and a
new dream match is here, with the crossover between both sagas.

ver 0.1 - FAQ struct, research on the web...
ver 0.3 - well, added MAX mode, cancel and power system
gauge.
ver 0.4 - mary's reverse facelock list was began.
ver 0.6 - new info about the final release, add the new command
to the <hsdm> : mary's typhoon
ver 0.8 - testing and releasing... the preview...
ver 0.85 - corrections. win poses & openings.
ver 1.0 - all is confirmed info... mistakes were corrected.
some combos added, and comments too!!
ver 1.4 - mary's reverse facelock counter list is complete
(i hope...), some combos added and a..
NOTE: Billy's <hsdm> cannot encounter <dm> Mary's
splash rose (qcf,hcb + A/C) =D
ver 1.5 - i think this will be the last update, added 1 combo.
ver 1.7 - corrections, and 1 combo. NO MORE UPDATES :P

What can i say??, orochi vs. n.e.s.t. battle, mmmm, Yashiro, Chris,
Shermie... Billy & Yamazaki.
Mary is in '97 team with billy and yamazaki again, so that will be
an interesting match. Vice and Mature are back too. This is a remake,
i think, from kof '98, although don't have history, is the best vs.
edition.

oooohh Dios!! this is one of the best kof that i have played in
my life!... you feel like another kof, but the backgrounds, music,
graphics have been improved. something that likes me a lot were
the <hsdm>, all have one!! this kof is very simple to play, you have
fun, is adictive, in three words: AN OLD KOF....
althought the <hsdm> are good, mostly of them are only frames that
already exist, nothing new.
that is bad, 'cause seems like were done in a hurry, and we don't
deserve of that...

in first round : she starts wearing her jacket and taking it
off, she call her dog (Mary says: "Are

vs Terry : Blue Mary look up, while Terry says: "Get ready?"
then Mary put her hand in her mouth and says:
"Let's fight Terry!".

DP - Dragon Punch motion (f,d,df,f)

the power gauge system works as follow: is the same system like
kof '98, you start with 3 stocks, in your second character you get
one more (you'll have 4 then) and at least, in the third character
you'll have 5 stocks.
you will need 1 stock to:
> guard cancel
> guard escape
> cancel (like in kof 01)
> cancel into MAX mode
> to change to MAX mode in middle a combo
> when you are in MAX mode, with another stock you can
perform a <sdm> and with 1/6 of energy a <hsdm>


:-: .3.3. cancel / MAX modes / HSDM system :

when u have 1 stock, you can change to MAX mode. the MAX mode is
limited by time, just like kof '98, but now you only press BC instead
ABC. when you are in MAX mode you can:
> perform a <sdm/DM>. if you have another stock, and you do the
<sdm> command, you will spend that stock and the MAX mode
will over; if you don't have 1 stock more, or you do the
<dm> command, the MAX mode will terminate too.

> cancel a special move. now the cancel mode works very
different. when you change to MAX mode you can cancel
some moves into others, but you will spend a part of the
MAX mode's time bar (about 1/4).

> perform a <hsdm>. this is new in the KOF series. a <hsdm> is
very different than a <sdm>, is more strong and amazing,
the background changes like the k9999 <sdm> in kof '01
(with blue and lines). you will need 1 stock more, but with
1/6 of energy (or less). check the <hsdm> section.

you can cancel like in kof 01, but now is more limited. only a few
combos will work as before, i meant, you can do the combo, but won't
work, won't connect. check the combo section to see which ones.

:-: .4.1. changes on her :-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:

mmmmta, Mary hasn't has changes in her moves since kof '99, only
in kof '01 her Mary's Typhoon was taken down. These are the
small changes in this special edition:

- climbing arrow was removed
- reverse headlock (after real counter) was removed
- when you cancel the mary's snatcher don't connect
- mary's typhoon is back

Hammer Arch : b/f + A
Double Rolling : b/f + B

NOTES
.1. Hammer Arch is an overhead, you cannot block it while
crouching, but is cancelable too, so, you can do any special
move inmediatly, but won't be an overhead.
.2. Climbing Arrow (db/df + B) was removed!!
.3. Double Rolling can be canceled only in the second hit into any
special move or <s/DM> (in normal conditions)

.2. Straight Slicer has a low priority and is very slow..
.3. Straight Slicer can be cancelled during MAX mode and like in
kof'01 too.

this is one classic. mary rush to the opponent and attack
and finally, she lift the opponent with a uppercut.
this <dm> don't have a <sdm> version :(

>> mary's dynamite swing ------------------------- (A, A, f, B, C)
is a weird command still, bad... mary attack the opponent
with her knee, then do a couple of suplexs, and she throw the
opponent far away.


- < super deseperation move > -
>> mary's dynamite swing ------------------------- (A, A, b, B, C)
is the <sdm> version. is strong and have more frames, you
must do BACK, not foward. with foward you wiil perform the <dm>
version, with BACK the <sdm>. remmember, you need to be in
MAX mode and 1 stock more.

>> mary's typhoon --------------------------- (qcf, fu, u, d + BD)
mmmmmm, what can i say.... i rather a new <dm>. ok. i missed
this <dm> but... others characters have a new <hsdm>, new
animations, new frames.
this is the <dm> that she had lost in kof '01. the command
hard to do, but only needs practice. mary's take the opponent
from the neck and she smash the opponent to the floor.

this will be the new list. with another system and changes between
versions, the list than i had made in kof '00 is unuseful.
this list will contain all the <s/DM> that mary's reverse facelock
can counter.

the previous combo, is done in 2 parts, before of MAX cancelation
and after. the first part can be done before any combo
starting from here... by example:

this is the first part
<2 stock : cancel into MAX + [MAX]>
- jump A/B/C/D, stand C (1 hit), f + A, cancel into MAX, run,
then.....
you can do any combo starting from 'stand C', but you'll need 1
stock more to cancel into MAX mode in middle of the combo.

<1 stocks : MAX mode before start>
- jump A/B/C/D, Stand C (1 hit), charge b + A, f + B,
DP + B, DP + B

<2 stocks : MAX mode before start + HSDM >
- jump A/B/C/D, Stand C (1 hit), f + A, cancel into Mary's Typhoon
(qcf, fu, u, d + BD)

<2 stocks : MAX mode before start + HSDM >
- jump A/B/C/D, Stand C (1 hit), f + B (2 hits), cancel into
Mary's Typhoon (qcf, fu, u, d + BD)

<5 stocks : cancel into MAX + [MAX] + cancel + SDM >
- jump A/B/C/D, stand C (1 hit), f + A, cancel into MAX, run,
stand C, f + B (2 hits), charge b, f + B, cancel into <sdm>

NOTE : Obviouslly DM version is posible with 4 stocks ;)

well, mary can cancel some special and normal moves like:
- Vertical arrow (DP + B/D) into:
* Mary's dynamite swing (A, A, f + B, C)
* Mary's splash rose (qcf, hcb + A/C)
* Real Counter (qcb + A/C)
* Mary Reverse Facelock (qcb + B)
* Mary Headbuster (qcb + D)
* Spin fall (qcf + A/C)

like you can see, this cancels are unuseful (except the <s/DM>),
although spin fall hits the opponent in the air, Mary's dynamite
don't connect as in kof '01 =(

- down B is cancellable into another special move too

- Straight slicer is cancellable just like vertical arrow
